(Almost) Finished Pants!!

So.... I was putting the finishing touches on my p.j. pants by melting the ends of my ribbon drawstring.... and our lighter ran out!! Go figure:). So, I'll have to wait till we get a new one to be "officially" done.

Here they are:

I was pretty excited about the ribbon trim at the bottom:) .

We Heart Tennis!

Oh my goodness! We're having a blast serving the Lord at the ATP Tennis Tournament!! We've been helping with concessions so far. It's been fun to people watch and deal with cranky people that have too much money:). Ben almost ran into Roger Federer and tonight we got to watch Rafa Nadal practice!! It was too cool!! It totally made Ben and me want to play tennis!!

4th Sewing Class

Tonight, we began making our pants.... Right now, mine look like a pair of flowered chaps for a cowgirl or something:).

Our teacher gave us her phone number in case we needed to ask her some sewing questions or anything after the class is done. She said she really didn't mind if we called her..... I'm not sure if she knows what she's getting in to:). I'm pretty sure I have absolutely no talent to read a sewing pattern on my own:). (I might have to put her number on speed-dial.)

Pictures from our West Virginia Trip

The first night of our trip we all stayed in this beautiful cabin. Although it has been rented by honeymooners before, we were able to fit a family of 7:).

The next day we went to Hawks' Nest State Park and stayed at the resort! It was beautiful.
We rode this down to the bottom so that we could hike.

Pretty!!

I thought this was pretty neat looking, too.

I'm officially a Huckstep (I take pictures of random flowers on vacation) :).

Everybody had a lot of fun at the resort pool.

Bling! Bling! I safeguarded the rings while everybody was in the pool.

Happy Family Photo!

We had swimming races. This was Ben and Holly competing in the Butterfly.

And with 3 boys, there's always time for football.

Touchdown!

Concrete Camouflage!

No trip to the pool is complete without a game of chicken!

4th of July Pics

Ben's family, Ben, and I went to Red, White, and Blue Ash for the 4th of July celebration.

The Statue of Liberty and Uncle Sam were there as well.

And there was plenty of eating....

There were rides.

And FIREWORKS!!!!

1st Sewing Class!!

PerryAnne (my friend from work) and I are taking a sewing class at The Stitching Post!!!! It's supposed to teach you all of the basics, and at the end, you get a sewing maching!! We learned a ton of cool things tonight and can't wait till our next class!

We learned how to make ruffles.... I'm sure Ben is really going to be excited about this new skill.

We learned how to make a blind hem. (It's where my finger is. You can't see it, but I think that's the point:) .) We also added top-stitching to make a nice edge (the left side of the material).

We made lots of stitching on some fabric to get familiar with the machine.

And we learned how to hem blue jeans!!! Look.... the top and middle of the fabric look just like REAL blue jeans (except with purple thread)! Cool, huh?

In the meantime, check out this news story on our old church in Lafayette! God is doing great things!!

Pictures from Last Night's Game

It was WAY harder to get a good picture of all 3 of them at once than I expected!! (Although it probably would've helped if I had told them I was taking pictures:) .)

BEAUTIFUL night for a game!!

Mr. Red!!

Not sure who these people are, but they took a pretty good picture:)

Cincinnati Reds Game!

  • 2 free tickets behind home plate from work...... $0
  • 1 slice of pizza, 1 giant Diet Pepsi, 1 pork BBQ sandwich, some chips, and a [tiny] cup of BBQ sauce........ $20.50
  • An evening at the ballpark with Ben, Pete, and Sarah..... Priceless

(I think this gets the award for "Cheesiest Post"... but I just couldn't help it:). )

Age Milestone!

The Good News: My new shorts were only $13.99!

The Bad News: They had a high waist and a 5 inch inseam! (a.k.a. "granny pants") :)

I think I'm starting to get old.....
